Take the hill before it's taken for you.

"Microsoft is asking some managers to evaluate employees based on how much they use AI internally, and the software giant is considering adding a metric related to this in its review process.”

That’s from a Business Insider article published June 27, 2025.

Today it’s Microsoft. Today it’s software developers. Today it’s “asking" and “considering”, but make no mistake this is just the beginning. Tomorrow it will be a non-tech company. Tomorrow it will be marketing or accounting or HR. Tomorrow it will be “mandating” and “deciding”.

Companies of all size and shape are working towards their Minimum Viable Human level to create a new status quo. And they’re dumping this problem on everyone in the payroll system—bluntly and without a plan. I have yet to read a single example where a mandate to “use AI” is followed by clear direction or real training. The C-suite has zero idea how AI should be incorporated into the day-to-day operations across divisions and departments. They are simply pointing to a hill and telling employees to take it come hell or high water.

That might sound harsh. It’s not—It’s reality.

Automation will only take you so far. Augmenting productivity is a good first step—and that’s what most teams are doing right now. But if you really want to turn heads, you have to learn how to collaborate with AI—to unlock knowledge, accelerate decision-making, and develop something rare: creative intelligence.

This is the leap most people still can’t see or are unable to articulate.
